About the author
Eric is an Assistant Professor of Aviation at the University of North Dakota - John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. He currently teaches coursework related to instrument flying and general aviation operations. A former corporate and charter pilot, Eric is a ~7000 hour ATP with type ratings in Learjet and Cessna Citation business jets, and is also rated in seaplanes. His aviation background includes time spent as a flight instructor in both the Part 61 and 141 environments, including several positions as Chief Flight Instructor. Eric has been proud to serve as a featured safety speaker throughout the United States. He is a Lead Representative for the FAASTeam program, and serves annually as a featured speaker for the FAA's safety programs at the Oshkosh and Sun 'n Fun conventions.
