Q & A
What drew you to aviation? My first airline flight as a kid! I was hooked. This led to a desire to be an Air Force pilot – retired after 20+ years of flying.
How long have you been involved in aviation education? Since 1989 What’s your favorite part of what you do in aviation education? Watching “ah-ha” moments from my students after connecting the dots of different aviation subject areas. What’s your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education? Trying to find all of references related to subjects I am trying to teach – they are not very centralized and it makes the job more difficult. Do you have a memorable aviation experience you’d like to share? Wow – too many to share. First solo as a student pilot – both as a civilian and military pilot. Flying the RF-4C and the F-15E. Learning to teach others to enjoy this great career path. Why did you join SAFE? I want to be a part of any effort to further aviation education and SAFE is all about that. What would you like to see change in aviation? I want to see people fall in love with flying – at any and all levels. Any suggestions on how the above might be accomplished? Customer service! After all, it is all about them, not us. Who are your role models in aviation? Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover, The Tuskegee Airmen |
