The FAA Wings-approved seminar drew an audience of 66 people to listen to Master Aerobatic Instructor Rich Stowell
PELLA, IOWA–Several supporters of the Society of Aviation & Flight Educators (SAFE) gathered at the scenic Pella Municipal Airport (PEA) during an evening safety seminar hosted by Classic Aviation. The FAA Wings-approved seminar drew an audience of 66 people to listen to Master Aerobatic Instructor Rich Stowell address two topics: the PARE Spin Recovery Checklist and Basic Aerobatics.
According to Pella Airport manager and Master Instructor Shane Vande Voort, “We are always looking for new and different ways to reach out to local pilots. We’ve found hosting an annual safety seminar to be an excellent way to help pilots reestablish the right frame of mind going into the summer flying season.”
Several SAFE supporters used the seminar as an opportunity to meet face-to-face, some for the first time. Pictured below are Shane Vande Voort of Pella, IA, Rich Stowell of Santa Paula, CA, Dave Kalwishky of Des Moines, IA, and Tim Busch of Atkins, IA.
